Triple Coupons

I have been reading Southern Savers.com and decided to give Harris Teeter's triple coupons a try. So I printed my coupons and chose a few for my first visit to Harris Teeter. Here is a picture of what I bought for $6.34. The original total was over $29. Not bad for my first try at couponing at Harris Teeter. Emilia built a tower to show off our purchases.

Mac joins the family

Mac has joined the family and Emilia could not be any happier. I am afraid that he may forget how to walk, because he doesn't get much floor time. However, it does help with the potty training. He doesn't have a chance to pee on the carpet!!!

Emilia asked to take Mac to her bedroom to play. They were quiet for too long. I found them both asleep on her bed. Mac blends in with the rest of the stuffed animals.

Mac is a very good puppy.

Finally!!! He gets to play with his toys. In case you were wondering, Emilia was at a sleepover with a friend.

My baby turns EIGHT!

Emilia turned 8 on July 13. She had a party at Hickory Dickory Dock with lots of friends and family.

She was very excited about her caboodle full of finger nail polish. Her and Emily began to plan a sleepover to try out everything.

Cousins Julie and Jeremy made sure that Emilia received 8 bumps and one to grow on for her birthday.

Attempt to start a real blog

Up until now, I have used this blog just to share pictures with my family. But recently, I have decided to try blogging more regularly. My hope is that this will help me to record more of Emilia's daily adventures to remember in the future. This summer has been very hectic for us. I decided at the end of June to switch Emilia to a new gym for gymnastics. Since then we have travelled to Statesville (a 30 minute drive) 3 days a week for her training. This has kept us busy, but she seems to love her new coaches and is much happier.
In July, we went to an Ethiopian Heritage Camp with my mom. We had a great time. I may write more about the camp in a later post. We also got a new puppy last week. Mac is a bichon poodle and he is officially spoiled rotten. His favorite spot to sleep is on my shoulder. House training is going well, because he doesn't get much time on the floor. When he is not sleeping, Emilia is holding him.

Ethiopian dresses

We have a friend, Judy, at our church whose son recently went on a mission trip to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. I sent money with him to buy Emilia a few more dresses. Judy came to visit today to deliver the dresses. They are very beautiful. One of the dresses fits Emilia perfectly. The other two will fit in maybe a year. He also surprised us by bringing Emilia an Amharic Bible. Maybe Emilia will learn to read it some day.
